Devin grew up in a small community in Eastern Oregon, where he played football, baseball and volunteered with the local ambulance service. Following graduation, he moved to Cheney and earned his BA degree in Government (minor in Psychology) from Eastern Washington University in 1996. He enrolled in Central Washington University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Paramedicine in 2000. For the next 4 years, he was a Lead Paramedic and Field Training Officer for American Medical Response in Vancouver. He then was accepted into the prestigious University of Washington MEDEX program, from which he garnered his Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Health Sciences in 2006.
While in the MEDEX program, he completed a six month rotation in Primary and Urgent Care in Nome, Alaska. Additional clinic rotations were completed in Emergency Care and Orthopedics in Vancouver, general surgery in Spokane, Washington, hospitalist medicine in Walla Walla, Washington, and Neurology at Madigan Army Medical Center (Fort Lewis).
After graduating in 2006, Devin moved to Eastern Washington for a position at the Garfield County Public Hospital in Pomeroy, where he was promoted to Chief of Staff of Emergency Medicine.
